Camp Lyngdal

Camping in the forest

$apiData['content']['article']['title']

Camp Lyngdal has a 500m long pine forest right behind the beach, with innumerable spaces for tents and hammocks!

Do you want to experience the feeling of wild camping while benefitting from the safety and facilities of an official camp ground? Do you wish to have your very own corner where you can easily hang your hammock between the tree trunks? Or are all the numbered tent sites fully booked?

Our forest is full of unnumbered spots. The price level is roughly the same as numbered spots. However, up to 2 hammocks in the forest is a similar price as a small tent in a numbered spot.

The differences from the numbered spots are as follows:

  • Camping in the forest cannot be reserved in advance
  • The best spots are taken on a first come, first served basis
  • You will probably have to park outside the camping, at least in the high season, but you can drive in to unload
  • Electricity is not available
  • The Wifi will probably not reach your camp site in the forest
  • The fjord can get windy on bad days

Camp Lyngdal has never had to "close the forest" because of high demand, but it could theoretically happen. It might be wise to check the forest for an available suitable spot (especially if you have a large tent) before paying in the reception.
